This is a one-semester survey including topics in physical and historical geology, earth materials, plate tectonics, geologic structures, landforms, geologic time, fossils and earth history. Credit in GEOL 1030 cannot be combined with GEOL 1040 or GEOL 1050 to satisfy graduation or general education requirements.
PREREQUISITE: Acceptable placement scores or completion of all Learning Support Competencies in Reading and Writing, and Math.
COREQUISITE: GEOL 1030L
HOURS: Three lecture, two field/laboratory hours per week.
General Education: Course can be used to meet Minimum General Education Core requirements.
