This course is a survey of scientific methods and theories that can be used to understand and evaluate: basic earth sciences, biological diversity and survival on this planet, environmental problems associated with human habitation, and the impact of human social policies on the planetary biosphere. Students will be challenged to address current environmental problems scientifically, and then consider possible solutions
PREREQUISITE: Acceptable placement scores or completion of all Writing and Reading Learning Support Competencies or concurrent enrollment in ENGL 0810 and READ 0810 as determined by placement.
COREQUISITE: ISCI 1030 Laboratory
HOURS: Three lecture, two laboratory/field hours per week.
GEN ED: Course can be used to meet Minimum General Education Core requirements.
