This course is intended for students whose program of study requires one 3-hour mathematics course. This course is designed to provide insight into the nature and applications of mathematics. Topics include but are not limited to the following: Critical Thinking, Set Theory, Logic, Consumer Mathematics and Finance, Counting Methods and Probability Theory, and Basic Statistics. (Same as TN eCampus Math 1010)

PREREQUISITE: ACT Math subscore of 19 (or equivalent), or completion of Learning Support Competencies 1-5 , or concurrent registration in MATH 0101 or MATH 0105.

Topics include sequences, sets, relations and functions; base-ten arithmetic, numeration systems and whole numbers; bases other than ten; operations with the integers; equations and inequalities; theory of numbers; operations with decimals and rational numbers. (Same as RODP MATH 1410)

PREREQUISITE: ACT Math subscore of 19 or equivalent, or completion of MATH 1005 with a grade of C or higher.

A course designed primarily for students majoring in elementary education. Topics include one stage probability; multistage probability; statistics, measures of central tendency; measures of dispersion; angle measurement; area; perimeter; surface area; and volume. (Same as TN eCampus Math 1420)

PREREQUISITE: Completion of MATH 1410 with a grade of C or higher, or permission of instructor.

An introduction to elementary methods and techniques. Topics include sampling, frequency distributions, elementary probability, binomial distributions, normal distributions, and uniform distributions. Tests of hypotheses and significance of data and simple correlation. (Same as RODP MATH 1530)

PREREQUISITE: ACT Math subscore of 19 (or equivalent), or completion of Learning Support Competencies 1-5 or concurrent registration in MATH 0153 or MATH 0105.
