By studying mammalian taxonomy, students will gain an understanding of mammalian evolution, mannalian anatomy and physiology, as well as mammalian ecology and natural history (with specific emphasis of mammalian species of hte Southern Appalachia region). Additionally, students will be introduced to various field methods used by mammologists.
