The development, content and management of the medical record will be explored as well as a basic overview of health care delivery systems. Emphasis is placed on hospital and medical staff organization; patient record content; procedures in filling, numbering and retention of patient records; quantitative analysis; release of patient information; forms control and design; indexes and registers; regulatory and accrediting agencies; and the transition to an electronic health record.
