This course is a study of the causes, research, classification, and treatment of human psychopathology across the lifespan. Topics include research, clinical assessment and clinical intervention in stress, anxiety, mood, eating, somatoform, dissociative, sexual, substance abuse, personality, cognitive, and psychotic disorders. The intersection of law, society and the mental health professions is also examined. An APA style research project/paper is required. Prerequisites: PSY 1310 or PSY 1320 and documented eligibility for honors courses (see current catalog for a full description of eligibility criteria) or permission from the Chair of the Department of Social Sciences.
