2.00 Credits
This laboratory course will teach students how to properly characterize chemical compounds using spectroscopy (NMR, IR, UV-Vis, and mass spectroscopy) and electrochemical techniques. In addition, students will learn advanced organic and inorganic synthesis techniques that include air-free synthesis, catalytic processes, chromatographic techniques, and isolation techniques. Students will be required to complete independent projects where they will utilize the scientific literature to propose, design, and execute experimental procedures. Prerequisite CHEM 204. Co-requisite: CHEM 421.
