This course is designed to focus on the quality improvement and assessment in a variety of healthcare settings. Emphasis will be placed on implementation of a quality improvement model, tools, techniques and activities of acute care hospitals, hospital out-patient and emergency departments, ambulatory care settings, and other healthcare facilities. Leadership and team building skills will be promoted. Quality improvement and assessment techniques as they relate to the medical staff are also addressed. Prerequisites: INFS 1010, HIT 1010/1011, BIOL 2010/2011, HIT 2130, HIT 1131, HIT 1140, HIT 2121 and HIT 1111.
