  . Study and practice in reading critically researching writing to communicate and speaking. Students must demonstrate (through sufficiently high Advanced Placement or SAT/ACT scores) competency in oral expression writing research papers and analytic writing for placement in this course in lieu of WRIT 1110. NOTE: Every student must earn a grade of C- or higher to pass WRIT 1110 or WRIT 1180. A grade below a C- is equivalent to a grade of F. Should a student transfer in English composition from another institution the student must have a C- or higher in that course.
