Prerequisite: RELS 2010 or permission of instructor. The purpose of this course is to examine how different religious approach the eventualities we all face - aging, dying, and death - in order to increase student understanding and deepen religious studies knowledge. This course will focus both on the rituals involved in aging, dying, death and bereavement, and the meaning of these life events in different religious traditions. As a course that also applies for the Caregiving Certificate, it will also involve an exploration of how various cultures approach the idea of eldercare and life cycles.
