    If you complete the following at Columbia State Community College:

    • Students must be admitted into the Respiratory Care program before registering for this course. This course is an application of topics discussed in previous and current respiratory care courses in the healthcare setting. Competence is to be obtained in the initiation, maintenance, weaning, and extubation of patients being mechanically ventilated and suctioning. Sleep testing will be presented. 24 hours clinical per week. This course is taught during the fall semester and is 15 weeks long.

    You may receive up to 3.00 credits at East Tennessee State University:

    • Prerequisite(s): CPSC 3350; Corequisite(s): CPSC 4100, CPSC 4500, and ALHE 4060. This course will place the student in advanced and specialized areas in cardiopulmonary care. During the semester the student will be exposed to clinical areas including advanced critical care monitoring, intubation, neonatal/pediatrics, home health care, sleep disorders, cardiopulmonary stress testing, and metabolic cart studies.
