This course includes the knowledge and skills of dental materials, including properties, laboratory safety competence in the use and manipulation of gypsum, restorative materials, dental cements, impression materials acrylic and thermoplastics, waxes, abrasive agents and study casts/occlusal registration.
PREREQUISITE: Acceptance into the Dental Assisting program
HOURS: 45 lecture and 30 lab hours per semester.
CAREER COURSE: Designated primarily for vocational/career programs. This course may be accepted as transfer credit by some colleges and universities, but that decision is made by the receiving institution. This course is collegiate level work, but has been developed with a purpose other than being a university parallel course.
