Begins the development of the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to function as a registered nurse. Introduces students to a clinical decision making process, with an emphasis on assessment of diverse individuals across the life span, as well as concepts of safety, management of care, and informatics. Students collaborate with clients to plan and implement interventions and evaluateoutcomes that promote and maintain wellness, focusing on basic skills, teaching, and communication. Students provide care to individuals experiencing variations in function. Clinical experiences occur in a variety of community based and extended care settings.
