Prerequisites and Corequisites: Biology 2010 has no prerequisites; Biol 2010 and 2020 may not be taken in the same semester since passing Biol 2010 with a grade of D or better is a prerequisite for Biol 2020; Biology 2230 has no prerequisites and may be taken concurrently with Biol 2010 or Biol 2020; However, it is strongly recommended that students take no more than one of these courses (Biol 2010, Biol 2020 or Biol 2230) in a give semester. This combination laboratory and lecture course consists of a study of the structure and function of the human body. Online laboratory experiences and exercises are designed to correspond with and complement the lecture material. The course will begin with a general introduction to anatomy and physiology, and then move on to cells, metabolism, tissues, basic chemistry, mitosis, osmosis, diffusion, the anatomy and physiology of the skeletal system, the integumentary system, the muscular system, and the nervous system.
